Acupuncture
In a healthy person, Qi flows through the meridians without obstruction. Meridians are delicate energy pathways connecting organs and limbs. They transport Qi and blood throughout the body. External influences, such as viruses, heat, cold and wind, might block the flow of Qi in the meridians. Stress and prolonged emotions can lead to stagnation as well, causing pain and distress. Acupuncture stimulates the free flow of Qi and removes obstructions in the meridians.
The stimulation of Qi is carried out with very thin, sterile needles at various meridian points. Insertion of the needles is hardly noticeable but you will be able to experience sensations ranging from a slight bump, some tingling and warmth to a feeling of heaviness.
Tuinamassage
Tuinamassage is highly effective in pain relief, stress and fatigue. This medical massage technique, unblocks stagnation in the meridians, stimulates the free flow of Qi and calms the mind. After treatment with acupuncture and tuina you might experience a feeling of heaviness or tiredness. This is a perfectly normal reaction. After treatment, it is important to drink lots of water and, if possible, to rest.
