Indications

In our practice we apply a combined approach of acupuncture and Chinese herbs. We treat the following diseases and ailments:

Stress and fatigue

It is not easy to find a proper balance between work and private life. Many people suffer from stress or show nonspecific symptoms – such as chronic fatigue syndrome – for which Western medicine offers no solution. According to TCM, prolonged excessive stress results in energy blockages and fatigue. Acupuncture and herbal medicine eliminate such blockages, allowing the Qi to flow back.

Pain

Many people suffer from aches, including neck, shoulder and back pain, fibromyalgia, migraines, stomach and abdominal pain, muscle and joint aches. A major cause of such aches and pains can be attributed to ones lifestyle. Too much or too little exercise and irregular or rushed eating habits can cause such pain and discomfort. Even emotions that have not yet been dealt with, can manifest as pain. Acupuncture treats pain. We also give physical exercises tips and advice on maintaining a healthy mind.

Insomnia

An estimated one in ten Dutch people suffer from insomnia. This includes not being able to sleep, waking up often and experiencing disturbing dreams. Unlike Western medicine, TCM assumes that there may be several causes leading to the same complaint. Hence the Chinese expression: ‘Different treatments for the same disease – Same treatment for various diseases’. Sometimes acupuncture is sufficient, but treatment is often more effective with herbal medicine.

Infertility

Acupuncture and especially herbs, can be of great value in supporting fertility and IVF treatment. TCM believes that a woman’s body needs to be in a good physical condition to be able to become pregnant. Stress, emotions and eating and living habits can affect a pregnancy. With a combined treatment of acupuncture and herbs, we provide the best support to bring your greatest wish to fruition.

Children

Like their parents, many children and adolescents suffer from too much activity. There are times when the school life becomes stressful. Children worry and simply forget to be happy. Acupuncture with ultra thin needles, which are completely painless, and tuinamassage work very quickly and are wonderfully effective in children.

Menopause

Nightsweats and hot flushes are among the most annoying menopausal symptoms. For many women, the menopause is associated with emotional fluctuations, rheumatic complaints, headaches and insomnia. These symptoms are caused by the deterioration of liver and kidney energy. Chinese herbs and acupuncture strengthen these organs and work well in stopping nightsweats and hot flushes.

Menstrual complaints

A painful menstruation, swollen breasts, irregular or no menstrual periods, too much or too little blood loss, cramps, irritation (PMS): for many girls and women menstruation is not easy. These complaints are mainly related to the functioning of the liver. Acupuncture and herbs ease menstruation, reduce pain and restore emotional balance.

Stomach and intestinal complaints

Stress and eating habits are major factors in developing stomach and intestinal complaints. These can range from mild symptoms such as flatulence, constipation and diarrhea to serious diseases as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.
Chinese herbs and acupuncture can relieve pain, improve bowel movement and reinforce the proper functioning of the organs concerned.

Hay fever

Especially in spring and summer, many people suffer from allergic reactions to pollen such as sneezing, nasal congestion, a runny nose, watery itchy or red eyes and headaches.
Acupuncture and herbs reduce or stop the symptoms and increase the body’s defence system.
